Sudanese Artists Lead Revolution

Earlier this year, the BBC reported on the way artists –painters and musicians, mostly– have taken over the city of Khartoum in the Sudan of Africa in support of the revolution taking place there. Following the military coup that freed the Sudanese people from fascist-rule, the people have been protesting in demand of a peaceful transition to civilian power. College students and others frequently gathered in public places in April and May 2019 to paint murals, play music, and dance.

The article, titled “In Pictures: The Art Fueling Sudan’s Revolution”, features photos of bright-colored murals and the stories behind them.
